Christmas Cake Workshop

Another hit from last year….! Get ready for Christmas by making a Christmas Cake - the way your Granny used to…. A workshop for all ages. Ingredients will be provided - and the ticket price, which covers these is PER CAKE…. ie you’re welcome to come as a wee cake-making team, and you only pay for the one cake/ticket. Numbers are limited for this (obv), so please make absolutely sure to book a place by 30th November so we know how much of the ingredients we need. Once you have booked you will be emailed a list of what to bring (size of tin, santa hat, welly boots, etc).

Tickets per cake £5.00 (plus booking fee)

‘Hope in Dark Times’ with Prof Michael Northcott

Brexit, climate change, terrorism, austerity, forced migration, and the election of populist tyrants seem to surround us. As we near the end of a year that has epitomised turbulent change on the national and international scene, this session is an opportunity to consider the many reasons still to be hopeful about the human condition and Mother Earth.

Michael Northcott is Professor of Ethics at New College, University of Edinburgh where he supervises graduate students in environmental and social ethics, the theology of work, the ethics of technology and religion and politics. He is a widely published author and commentator, and his most recent book is Place, Ecology and the Sacred (Bloomsbury 2015). FREE EVENT - please reserve a ticket

Please note: You may or may not end up with anything that even remotely resembles the cake

No special skills needed – just willing hands and painty clothes. It’s fine to come for just part of the time! Led by Ali Brown.
